Maison Flaujagues stands surrounded by two acres of private grounds where leafy trees sway over wide lawns and a stream trickles its way to the Dordogne River. This traditional Gironde farmhouse invites guests to experience a slower pace of life, whether you’re enjoying breakfast in the shade of the terrace or swimming in the heated swimming pool.

The house blends character with comfort across three floors, from the high-ceilinged living room with its stone fireplace and Bose sound system to the fully equipped country kitchen. There are six bedrooms sleeping up to 10 guests with a mix of doubles, singles and a twin. To escape the summer sun, the games room promises entertainment with table football, UK TV and a collection of Wii games. There’s also table-tennis to add to the list of fantastic amenities across the house and grounds.

Outdoors, life centres around the private, heated pool, framed by a sun terrace, loungers and a shaded dining table. Long afternoons outside melt into evenings spent on the sociable dining terrace, grilling local produce on the barbecue or sliding a pizza into the outdoor oven. It’s a privilege to be able to walk to the end of the mature garden and reach the river’s edge, an idyllic spot for fishing or simply relaxing as you gaze at one of France’s most iconic rivers.

Set on a country road close to the small village of Flaujagues, there’s a restaurant just 1km away whilst a short drive brings you to Pessac-sur-Dordogne for more restaurants and canoeing or Gensac for basic groceries, café-bars and good wine. Don’t miss Sainte-Foy-la-Grande’s famed Saturday market and spend time exploring the vineyards and limestone wonders of Saint-Émilion, one of the country's most famous hilltop towns.

Perfect for guests seeking character, authenticity and French countryside charm, Maison Flaujagues is a place to rediscover life’s simple pleasures just steps from the Dordogne River.
