Surrounded by olive trees, lavender and woodland, La Haute Bastié rests atop a south-facing hillside close to the village of Seillans, classified as one of France’s ‘Plus Beaux Villages’.

As you arrive along the steep drive through the forest, the landscape unfurls before you - five hectares of terraced grounds and pretty paths, with panoramic views that stretch endlessly across the valley. There is a rare sense of calm here, where only the chirp of cicadas and the rustle of leaves fill the warm air.

Dating back to the mid-19th century, this country house has been thoughtfully restored, combining traditional stone architecture with modern touches of comfort. Inside, the main house features a modern kitchen, an atmospheric living room with high-beamed ceilings and a fireplace, and three inviting bedrooms. Adjacent, the charming garden house offers additional privacy with its own kitchenette, bathroom and an upper-level bedroom with a relaxed seating area. Each of the four bedrooms features air-conditioning.

Step outside to discover a lifestyle made for long Provençal days. Cool off in the swimming pool, play a game of pétanque or savour slow lunches under a wisteria-draped pergola. Whether gathered for family dinners around the large outdoor table or stretched out on a lounger with a glass of rosé in hand, the setting is designed for effortless enjoyment.

Despite its seclusion, La Haute Bastié is only 4.5km by car from the postcard-worthy village of Seillans. With its cobbled lanes, shaded cafés and excellent restaurants, it offers a taste of authentic Provence. The vineyards of Val D’Iris and Château de Selves are an energetic stroll away, while the glamorous shores of Cannes and the Côte d’Azur lie less than 60 minutes south. Day trips to Lac de Saint-Cassien, Grasse’s perfume houses or the markets of Fayence complete the picture of a richly rewarding escape.

Perfect for groups seeking a slower pace in a timeless setting, La Haute Bastié invites you to press pause and soak in the rhythm and secluded beauty of the South of France.
