Set within four hectares of grounds in the Gironde hamlet of Petit-Palais-et-Cornemps, Le Petit Palais is a classic French manor house brought beautifully into the present. Behind its traditional façade lies a fully renovated retreat designed for relaxed gatherings and warm summer days. Mature trees line the sweeping lawn, where children can play freely, then linger on the shaded terrace and cool off in the private swimming pool.

Step inside to discover interiors that blend original character with considered comfort. The entrance hall leads to a spacious kitchen, ideal for family breakfasts around the central island. The living and dining areas are light-filled and inviting, with Wi-Fi, TV and a games room offering table football. Six thoughtfully styled bedrooms sleep up to 12 guests, including two with en-suite bathrooms and one with a bunk bed perfect for younger visitors.

Outdoors, the lifestyle continues with al-fresco meals on the shaded terrace, long afternoons beside the heated swimming pool and evening barbecues under big country skies. There’s a trampoline, play area and table tennis for endless summer fun, and plenty of quiet corners to unwind with a glass of local wine.

Set between the world-renowned vineyards of Bordeaux and Bergerac, this is wine country at its most authentic. The medieval village of Saint-Émilion is just 15 minutes away, with its cobbled streets, centuries-old wine cellars and acclaimed restaurants. Closer to home, the nearby villages of Puisseguin and Puynormand offer local shops and arguably the best bakery in the region, while the bustling town of Libourne is only a 20km drive for all other essentials, weekly markets and boat trips along the Dordogne.

Whether gathering with friends or simply reconnecting with family, Le Petit Palais offers a relaxed yet refined base in the heart of the Gironde.
