Perched on the fringe of the village of Bunbury in Cheshire, Bunbury House invites you into a world where old world character meets refined comfort with easy access to glorious countryside landscapes and the historic city of Chester.

Whether you are planning a family getaway or slipping off for a weekend break of good food and walking, Bunbury House exudes English charm and genuine warmth. The house dates back to the mid-19th century and has undergone a remarkable restoration, resulting in a beautifully furnished period home with touches of elegance.

Warm up by the electric fire in one of the two living rooms, prepare delicious meals in the fully-equipped kitchen-diner or enjoy long summer evenings with good wine on the outdoor lounge in the landscaped garden. Five gorgeous bedrooms await, four with double beds alongside one cosy twin, all featuring Egyptian cotton sheets and sumptuous mattresses.

The house sits on the edge of the village of Bunbury, where local life hums nearby: a Co Op store for essentials, a Thursday mobile fishmonger, a coffee shop offering twice-weekly wood fired pizzas and the warm welcome of the Nag’s Head pub with hearty weekend breakfasts and a good choice of real ales.

Nearby places such as Tattenhall, Tarporley and Nantwich offer country pubs, cafés and a lively Saturday farmers’ market for food lovers to explore. Across the landscape, the trails of the Sandstone Ridge and the Bickerton Hills invite exploration and gentle adventure. For a change of pace, the historic city of Chester lies around 23km away – walk the Roman walls, explore independent arcades, or spend a day with the family at Chester Zoo.

Whether you’re planning a family getaway or simply stepping away from the city for a short break, Bunbury House offers a chic and beautiful holiday home in the pretty county of Cheshire.
